Our Itinerary

After welcoming you at the airport we take a taxi down the road leading to Terapacá where we will begin an ecological walk of 2 hours in the jungle to the indigenous Wayruru community. During the walk you will learn about timber trees, medicinal plants of the region and the various indigenous cultures and their customs practices.

Upon reaching the Maloca or traditional longhouse, known to the natives of the region as a place where meetings and traditional festivals are held, you will be received by the shaman or leader in charge. He will speak about the importance of this place within the tribe and the sacred substances that are used there such as Mambe, Coca, Rape, Ambil and ground tobacco. You can then enjoy a traditional lunch. This is followed by a visit to the “chagra”, the place where traditional crops such as cassava, banana, pineapple, the coca plant and tobacco are grown. You will get the chance to learn about regional cuisine while preparing dinner with community members. After dinner we can go on a night walk to see bioluminescent mushrooms and other fascinating animals and plants.

After breakfast, we begin our trip with a taxi ride along the road via Tarapaca to a Natural Reserve where we will find a tree house. After a panoramic view of the canopy, the highest part of the jungle, we will start to go from tree to tree with zip lines. At the end of the afternoon we will have time to rest and immerse ourselves in the beauty of the jungle. After dinner we can do a night walk to explore the jungle in the dark and be able to observe different types of insects and animals of that environment.
